Comments: Zamia furfuracea is a “living fossil” plant, its kind surviving on earth since the time of the dinosaurs. This slow growing plant produces a rusty-brown cone in the center of the female plant. The egg-shaped female (seed-producing) cones and smaller male (pollen-producing) cone clusters are produced on separate plants.This cycad is salt resistant and can be used in beachside plantings.
